Sir Terry Frost

Frost was born in Warwickshire but based most of his later pieces of work in Cornwall inspired by the cornish landscapes. His abstract pieces evoke energy, texture and bold approaches to colour and composition. I find this piece highly interesting, particularly after reading and researching the painting more. I found that this piece (part of a series name ‘Lace’) was based of a stay or corset that Frost helped his grandmother put on. I also read that the central line travelling up the middle of the painting was to represent the spin, referencing the human anatomy.
